De Montfort University Falcons began their journey without the usual affiliation period due to the strong ties with BAFANL Premiership North side, Leicester Falcons.

The rookie team got their season off the ground with a 24 – 6 victory over the league’s not so royal, Worcester Royals who finished their season 0-8.

Despite such a victorious start, the Falcons went on to lose their next five consecutive games and ended the season with a close to the wire 15 – 14 victory against cross town rivals and long standing league members, Leicester Longhorns who finished their season 3-5.
