Falcons form Development Squad

The Falcons can announce they will field two adult sides next season with the formation of a Development Squad.  The Development Squad will play up to six games next year as an associate team and provide game time for members who don’t make the Elite Squad.

“With a squad size as large as ours it can be difficult getting everyone game time, last year we had 88 registered players and early indicators suggest next season might be even more.” said club spokesman Joel Pearson. “The development squad is a necessary next step in order to provide meaningful football for the most amount of people.  We are lucky to be in an area with a number of associate sides who can provide games in the coming year and hopefully we can be of assistance to sides wishing to complete their associate year.”

Everyone will continue to train as one squad and players who excel in the Development Squad will be able to earn a place in the Elite Squad, who will participate in the BAFA Premier Division (North) next year.

Fixtures for the Development Squad will be announced in the new year.
