Central Division Champions
The Leicester Falcons Youth American Football team first
took flight early in 2012, just four players attended the
first session, now in their third season a twenty five strong
squad of Leicester's finest young American Footballers will
travel to Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster to compete in their
first National Championship finals this Saturday.
After finishing the regular season with a 10-2 record, beating
last year's national champion Birmingham Bulls along the way,
the Falcons were crowned Central Division Champions for the
first time and will face Kent Exiles in a quarter-final tie
hoping to progress on to the final later in the day.
Coach Karl Burgess, who has led the academy
teams since 2010 is confident that if the team play mistake
free football they have more than enough ability to become
Champions. Lead by second year quarterback James Cross
and Safety Rinay Kotecha the Falcons have
achieved their seasons successes with over half of the squad
being first year players which bodes well for the future.
The 2014 seson has ended. Details of winter training for
2015 season to follow.
